Japanese Imperial Commendation awarded to Mr. Joseph Delgado Tenorio

The Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna announced today that on April 29, 2026, “The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays” was bestowed to Mr. Joseph Delgado Tenorio, Former Senior Staff Adviser, Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna (1982 to 2026).
 
Mr. Tenorio is being recognized with this prestigious award for his longstanding and distinguished service to the Consulate. During his tenure of 44 years, he provided invaluable support to successive Consuls-General, serving from the second through the twenty-first heads of mission. Since the beginning of his service, he has consistently assisted in political affairs and a wide range of consular operations, thereby making a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding between Japan and Guam.
