The Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna is seeking to hire one (1) local staff member to serve as Receptionist and General Administrative Support under the following terms:

Receptionist and General Administrative Support (Local Staff)
The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers and provide general administrative support to the office. Primary responsibilities include welcoming visitors, handling inquiries, supporting daily office operations, assisting the Deputy Consul General, and providing support for public relations and cultural programs. The position requires professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills in a multicultural environment.

Working hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 5:15 PM on weekdays
(38.75 hours per week).

Receptionist and General Administrative Support (Local Staff)
The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers and provide general administrative support to the office. Primary responsibilities include welcoming visitors, handling inquiries, supporting daily office operations, assisting the Deputy Consul General, and providing support for public relations and cultural programs. The position requires professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills in a multicultural environment.
Primary duties include:
- Reception duties, including greeting visitors and responding to inquiries
- General office administrative tasks and clerical support
- Assistance with public relations and cultural programs
- Other related duties as assigned
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid U.S. work authorization (for non-U.S. citizens).
- Completion of high school or equivalent level of education.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (daily interaction with Japanese officials and visitors).
- Strong knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), including the ability to create and manage documents and data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a cooperative and team-oriented attitude.
- Interest in Japanese government policies and Japanese culture is preferred.

- Second Screening: Written test and interview (Mid-February)
