Presentation of “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” to Professor Emeritus Toyoko Poong-Ja Kang

On September 18, 2025, a conferment ceremony for The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette was held at the Official Residence of the Consul-General of Japan in Hagåtña in honor of Dr. Toyoko Poong-Ja Kang, Professor Emeritus of the University of Guam.
This prestigious award was bestowed upon Dr. Kang in recognition of her many years of outstanding contributions to the promotion of Japanese culture through Japanese language education.
At the ceremony, Consul-General Susumu Ueda presented Dr. Kang with the certificate and decoration. The occasion was attended by invited guests who warmly celebrated Dr. Kang’s distinguished achievements and receipt of the award.
