Emperor's Birthday

Today, February 23, is the Emperor's Birthday which is also Japan’s National Day.

His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito ascended the throne as the 126th Emperor of Japan on May 1, 2019, with the commencement of the Reiwa era.

The Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna would like to ask you to join us in celebrating his 61st birthday virtually with a special congratulatory video message from Foreign Minister MOTEGI Toshimitsu.
